    Abstract: David W. Hill, born in 1923 in Blanchard, North Dakota, moved to Ventura in 1932 with him family as a child. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army during World War II. He graduated from Northridge College, and in the 1970s he retired from Pt. Mugu Naval Missile Center as head of Editing and Publishing. Hill served as a docent at the Museum of Ventura County starting in 1981 and maintained a great interest in local history. This collection consists of photographs, negatives, ephemera, and photocopied reports created or collected by Hill.

    Biographical / Historical

    David W. Hill was born in 1923 in Blanchard, North Dakota. His family moved to Ventura in 1932. After graduating from high school, Hill joined the Army during World War II and served in the Korean War. He graduated from Northridge College, and in the 1970s he retired from Pt. Mugu Naval Missile Center as head of Editing and Publishing.
    Hill served as a docent at the Museum of Ventura County starting in 1981 and maintained a great interest in local history. In 2008 David wrote and published a book titled The Streets of Ventura. Hill passed at the age of 94 at on September 3, 2017.

    Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of photographs, negatives, ephemera, and photocopied reports created or collected by David Hill, a former Museum docent. He made copies of photographs in the photograph collection and curated other items relevant to either the Museum's or Ventura County history.
