Scope and Contents
This collection contains a typed copy of a manuscript "Traslado de Real Cedula, dirijida al Padre Custadio Fray Esteban de
Perea, 1621" and two pieces of correspondence from 1902 regarding the manuscript. The typed copy was requested by Frederick
Webb Hodge from F. W. Putnam, then Director of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University.
It was copied from a handwritten copy made in Santa Fe in 1888 by Adolph Bandelier.
The two pieces of correspondence include a letter from George Byron Gordon, who made the typed copy of the manuscript, sent
1902 September 11, and a letter from Hodge to Charles Fletcher Lummis regarding the manuscript.
