Biographical note

American physicist and Rand Corporation consultant.

Scope and Content of Collection

The Richard Latter papers include writings, correspondence, studies, reports, notes, printed matter, and photographs, relating to theoretical physics, nuclear weapons, nuclear weapons testing, and especially the Conference on the Discontinuance of Nuclear Weapon Tests.
Richard Latter was a physicist and consultant with the Rand Corporation during the 1950s and 1960s, who later founded his own defense consulting group. The collection documents his work with the Geneva Conference on Discontinuance of Nuclear Weapons tests in 1959, including minutes, reports, agendas and other material relating to nuclear nonproliferation.
