Scope and Content of Collection

Glenn Michael Turner worked for Guild Book Service in the 1960s, was editor/publisher of STARS, and was also associated with Drummer. He died in 1986. The collection is composed of original typescripts of porn stories [submitted to Guild Press]; and a small number of letters related to the stories, to STARS and to other topics. Included is one letter to Turner from Neal Bates ('Blade'), an important figure who was one of the first American artists to illustrate gay male erotic stories. Carton 1 contains correspondence and typescripts; Boxes 1-2 contain typescripts. Researchers can contact the Historical Society for a list of stories contained the collection.
