Flyers for events held at clubs, bars, and restaurants. Some are fundraising events for social organizations, others are to provide services to HIV/AIDS programs or other social service organizations. There are dance club announcements, and circuit party announcements. Some flyers are for Imperial Court functions, motorcycle club events, leather or uniform events, or bare chest calendar events.

All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the City Archivist. Permission for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.

The collection is available for use during San Francisco History Center hours.
