Scope and Content of Collection
The collection is housed primarily in two places. The special collections room has nine boxes.
• Boxes 1-5: (91-02) letter press plates for Pony Express book
• Box 6: (92-61) San Ramon Valley SP Right-of-Way Study Committee (1981-1991): minutes, news clippings, correspondence, studies,
presentations.
• Box 7: (91-02) Notes, correspondence, and manuscript for Pony Express, The Great Gamble; also (91-79) transcript of talk
given to CCCHS meeting, 9/28/1991 about “Pony Express, Fact and Fiction”
• Box 8: (91-02) Manuscripts for the Pony Express book, correspondence and papers with the CCCHS.
