Content Description
This collection consists of manuscript, printed and photographic materials relating to the history of the Brown, Burlingame,
and Hinman families. The materials include photo albums, school year books, genealogies, correspondence, newspaper clippings,
diplomas, certificates, family Bibles, scrapbooks, and other materials.
The materials also include transcriptions of original letters, manuscript genealogical documents, print-outs of documents
about the family's histories, biographies of specific family members, a diary of Alice Jones Brown Hinman, portraits of family
members, and the Brown-Hinman family bible. Several documents are accompanied by modern typed transcripts. Family members
present in the documents include William Gage Brown, Joel Burlingame, Silas Burlingame, Lois Wright, Sarah Hurd, Michael Hinman,
Michael Hinman Junior, Lydia Warren, Mehitable Fiske, Samuel Brown Junior, Cora Estelle Cate, Elmore Brown Hinman, Alice Jones
Brown Hinman, Anson Burlingame, Justus Michael Hinman, Lillian Angeline Hinman Shuey, Leona and Levia Hinman, Leroy Hinman,
and more.
