This collection includes flyers, pamphlets, correspondence, meeting notes, articles, and other documents related to the Manhattan
Beach Residents Association (MBRA).Also included in this collection are issues of the MBRA publication, "The Observer". Subjects
include association engagement with members to raise awareness about local issues since its early establishment in 1988.
Background
The Manhattan Beach Resident Association (MBRA) is an all-volunteer organization formed circa 1988 that aims to "preserve
the residential character and quality of our unique neighborhoods, promote local businesses, advocate for local schools, and
increase broader participation in City government." The organization engages with residents through their monthly publication,
"The Observer", as well as through correspondence and meetings.
Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the Director of Archives
and Special Collections. Permission for publication is given on behalf of Special Collections as the owner of the physical
materials and not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be obtained.
