Biography/Administrative History

Ms. Gertrude White had a 42 year teaching career in Yolo County (1901-1912) and also lived in Woodland until her death in 1952.

Scope and Content of Collection

This collection contains documents from the teaching career of Ms. Gertrude White. She taught in Yolo County schools from 1901-1912, including Spring Lake School. The collection contains two "Teaching Record Books" from Tehama, Yolo, and Sacramento County schools. There is also a memoir from a former student who provides recollections of Mr. White's teaching in Tehama County.
