Description
The collection of the Rincon del Diablo chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution documents the activities and services
performed largely from its inception in 1954 through 1981. Collection contains scrapbooks and miscellaneous records to include
minutes, manuals, and genealogical records. These records were submitted by members to be added to the California State D.A.R.,
and the national D.A.R. libraries. Rancho San Bernardo chapter materials are a set of scrapbooks from 1979-1996.
Background
The Rincon del Diablo chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized on October 24, 1954, and its charter
was issued on January 5, 1956. By the end of 1954, the chapter consisted of 26 members and was active in programs including
national and civil defense, conservation, American history, and good citizenship.
