Description
The Public Relations Society of America, San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter Records (1959-2011) document the organization's activities and services from its founding through 2011. Materials in this collection include chapter board meeting minutes, bylaws, newsletters, membership directories, chapter award programs and special events, news releases, audio/visual materials, and photographs. The collection also includes annual records binders, which contain board member lists, meeting minutes, notes, correspondence, and press clippings. This collection is organized alphabetically.
Background
The San Diego Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) was founded in 1959 by six local public relations professionals. More than 50 years later, the chapter has expanded to include the Imperial Valley and has grown to its current membership of approximately 250 members. Members represent a wide range of experience levels, and their practice areas include corporate, nonprofit, government, agency, education and counseling.

The copyright interests in some of these materials have been transferred to or belong to San Diego State University.
