Artist's Statement

There are several jokes in this print in addition to the obvious one about hot air and the GOP, the frame, the "publisher" and the imitation lithographic style is supposed to suggest Daumier. The paper is actually from the estate of Richard V. Correll who was a WPA artist. This paper was used by the San Francisco project of the WPA in the Fine Arts Project for lithographs. So it's a lithographic forgery much like the "outrage" of the Republican party at Trump's bile.
