Description
The Edwin and Louise Griffiths collection of Southern California postcards consists of 33 historic postcards of Southern California sites and neighborhoods, including the San Gabriel Mission, Santa Catalina Island, and Mount Lowe Railway. Edwin and Louise Griffiths collected the postcards during their travels to the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. The Griffiths' travels began from their home in Philadelphia and crossed the country to California and other western states. Publishers of the postcards include R. H. Stocoum, Benham Indian Trading Co., Edward H. Mitchell, and the O. Newman Company. The postcards in this collection are blank of correspondence or signs of postage.
