Description
This collection was put together by the great granddaughters of Orne. Includes his biography and role in establishing the
First United Methodist Church in Santa Paula, CA
Background
Orne was born in 1832. He came to California during the Gold Rush. He worked in central California and became interested
in the ministry in the Methodist Church. He married Eliza Bates. In 1876 they came to Santa Paula, CA. He helped establish
the Methodist church in 1882
