    Abstract: Fishermen's Protective Union of the Pacific Coast and Alaska ledger sheet (SAFR 24696, HDC1748) is an oversized form printed in black and red ink. It is a Secretary's Financial Report for the Quarter ending in June. The form is completed in pencil and there are penciled calculations on the back of the form. Section titles are Itemized Statement of Income During Quarter, Itemized Statement of Expenses During Quarter, Total Statement of Accounts, Members in Good Standing ... Bad Standing; and Cash Received by Secretary, Patrolmen and Collector. This item is available for research use.

    Historical or Biographical Note

    In 1903, the Fishermen's Union of the Pacific Coast and Alaska affiliated with the International Seamen's Union. In 1906, at the International Seamen's Union of America convention, the place of the Fishermen's Union of the Pacific Coast and Alaska was taken by the United Fishermen's Union of the Pacific which had been formed in April of that year by an amalgamation of the Fishermen's Protective Union and a unaffiliated local organization, the Columbia River Fishermen's Protective Union.
