Historical Note

The "Santa Barbara Oral History Office UCSB, from the late 70s to early 80s", was carried out by Dr. Marian A. Johnson, who served as a community oral historian at the University, based at the Santa Barbara Historical Society, then the Hutchins Center, UCSB, later at UCSB Library, where most of this work was done. The project was halted when Dr. Marian Johnson moved to a professorship in Utah in the spring of 1984.

The collection also contains other historical tapes, research notes, photographs, interviews, clippings and subject files. Many of the interviews have tape indexes in their folders.
