    Biography/Administrative History

    : Gayle Uilkema, who died of cancer in 2012 at age 73, was a Lafayette City Council member for 19 years and served on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors for 16 years (four terms). She was active in many local issues including business development, air quality improvement, hazardous materials and industrial safety and advocacy for women in government and business.
