Biographical Note

Paul Lieberenz (1893-1954) was a German filmmaker and writer famous for his expeditions and subsequent documentaries on wild game in Africa. He was one of the first German documentary film producers. Between 1923 and 1939 he travelled several times to Africa. From 1927 to 1929 Lieberenz undertook an expedition with Sven Hedin to Inner Mongolia and Lapland, the most elaborately equipped of Hedin's expeditions.
