Title: Charles Leavens Estate collection
Identifier/Call Number: MVC033
Contributing Institution: Museum of Ventura County
Language of Material: English
Physical Description: 1.0 linear ft. (1 box)
Date: circa 1800s-1900s
creator: Leavens, Charles

Scope and Contents Note

A number of documents in the collection refer to H. A. Flint or Flint family members. Henry Flint was an early Ventura County pioneer farmer/rancher in Santa Paula and Saticoy. Upon his death, Flint's property was sold to the Leavens family. Charles Leavens was the family member designated to inventory the Flint property and papers. These papers remained in Mr. Leavens' possession at the time of his death, and thus have become a part of this collection.

Acquisition Information

This collection was donated to the museum by Mary Leavens Schwabauer, a second cousin of Charles Leavens, on February 16, 1996. Contents of the collection were found by Charles Leavens' daughter, Charla Leavens-Murray, among her father's papers after his death in 1995.
