The collection is comprised of group by-laws, press releases, newspaper clippings, lyric sheets, photographs, and other ephemera
that relate to the activities of north Sacramento County's Arcade Dandylions women's club between 1954 and 1970.
Founded in the early 1950s, the Dandylions – an auxiliary to the Arcade Lions Club – participated in several social functions
and conducted fundraising activities for various charities in the Sacramento area. The Dandylion Choral Society was a vocal
ensemble that performed for a fee for groups throughout the Sacramento Region with those proceeds going both to a scholarship
fund and groups in need, including the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento and Crippled Children's Home. The bulk of the
group's activities took place during the 1950s and 1960s with group's presence fading by the mid-1970s.
