Description
The collection spans the years 1959 to 2012 and consists of five series: Personal Papers, Professional Papers, Faculty Papers,
Project Records, and Posters. His student work and his extensive career as an author, lecturer, and book, exhibit, and graphic
designer make up the majority of the collection.
Background
Marc Treib (1943- ) was born in New York, NY; he later moved to Miami, Florida where he attended high school. During high
school he began his study of architecture and design, laying the foundation for his career. After graduating from Miami Beach
High School in 1961, he attended the University of Florida, receiving his Bachelor of Architecture in 1966. That same year
he was awarded a Fulbright-Hayes Fellowship in Architecture and Design for study in Finland. Treib describes this experience
as “broadening his understanding of [the] relationship of architecture and culture, sensibility, and the pervading power of
language.” He continues to travel throughout the world expanding his interests and research in the fields of architecture,
landscape architecture and design.
