Description
The William Shanks collection of scripts spans the years 1949-1958 and encompasses 1.3 linear feet. The collection consists of scripts for four Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer productions: KING SOLOMON'S MINES (1950), SOME CAME RUNNING (1958), THE TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON (1956), and VALLEY OF THE KINGS (1954). All the scripts are heavily annotated, and in addition there is a variety of production material for the first two films listed, including cast sheets, memos, schedules, and wardrobe plots. Helen Shanks was the secretary to the producer on SOME CAME RUNNING.
