Abstract: Clippings, correspondence, resumes, photographs, and notes, 1991-1992, documenting the work of artist Tim Taylor. Taylor
was paralyzed by polio at age 6 and never recovered the use of his arms and hands. In the 1980s, he began painting using a
brush held with his toes.
Tim Taylor was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1954 at the age of six he was paralyzed from the neck down by polio. He regained
his ability to stand, but never reclaimed the use of his hands and arms. In the mid-1970s Taylor moved to Los Angeles with
the hopes of establishing a career in the entertainment industry. Unable to find employment in Hollywood, Taylor co-founded
the Performing Arts Theater of the Handicapped (PATH). He later became a liaison between disabled people and the entertainment
industry. In the 1980s he began painting by holding a paint brush between his toes. In the early 1990s he developed a style
of abstract expressionism he referred to as "vibration art."
