This folder contains the family history of William Morrison Corbusier and his descendants. The first manuscript is a typed, string-bound, and titled biographical account of "William Morrison Corbusier Sr., a California Forty-Niner, and his descendants". William M. Corbusier Sr. was born in New York City on September 17th, 1819. He was the son of James Henry Corbusier, who was born in Bermuda on May 6th, 1795 and came to America in 1805. William M. Corbusier sailed form New York City "on the Bark Mara", which landed in Vera Cruz, Mexico on Feb. 24th, and "many of the party proceeded overland to San Blas" Mexico and on April 15th took the "Brig Cayuga" to "San Francisco, arriving May 13th, 1849." William Sr,. had a son named William Morrison Corbusier Jr. who was born in New York City April 10th, 1844. He would leave New York City with his father on " the steamer Prometheus" bound for San Francisco, via Nicaragua, eventually arriving July 31st, 1854. William Jr. was a Colonel and a Surgeon in the United States Army and served three year during the American Civil War.
