Historical note
The Pepperdine Volunteer Center was established in 1988 as a way for students to become involved in community outreach and
service. The organization offers Pepperdine University's students opportunities to participate in weekly or monthly programs,
including Tutoring Plus, Special Equestrian Riding Therapy, and the Senior Citizen Connection program. Additionally, the Pepperdine
Volunteer Center also sponsors annual events aimed at engaging Pepperdine University students in service work. Every September
since its creation in 1988, the Pepperdine Volunteer Center has hosted Step Forward Day, where students participate in day-long
service opportunities in local areas. Though some of the organization's programs have changed throughout time, the Pepperdine
Volunteer Center continues to provide Pepperdine University students with opportunities to participate in outreach and service
within their communities.
