Scope and Contents

Collection contains diary of Dr. Milton Chapman, 1st Lt., Medical Reserve Corps, American Expeditionary Forces, France. Diary for 1918, printed by Standard Diary co., completed in holograph for 1 Jan. - 27 Dec. 1918 by a physician from Rochester, N.Y., who volunteered in Dec. 1917 for the Medical Reserve Corps. Entries describe training at Ft. Riley and shipping overseas to France, and experiences with soldiers, physicians, and others in ambulances corps, clinics, and camp hospitals, including Mailley-le-Camp.
