Background
The American Film Institute, founded in 1965, is a non-profit film organization that educates filmmakers and honors and preserves
the history of motion picture arts in the United States. The American Film Institute Louis b. Mayer Library was founded in
1969, and is dedicated to supporting AFI Conservatory studies though offering resources such as books, films, audio, video,
manuscripts and other collections focusing on the history and craft of visual storytelling.
