Description
This collection consists of scrapbooks related to Audrey Oliver's life at school and college as well as personal correspondence to herself and other family members.
Background
Audrey Oliver was born in San Diego the daughter of Walter G. and Anna Oliver. She attended the Jefferson School and later Our Lady of Peace Academy graduating in 1935. She then attended San Diego State College (later known as San Diego State University) and studied to become a dietitian. She later enlisted in the military during WWII, serving as a dietician at several posts in the United States and the European and Pacific theaters, including North Africa, Naples, Okinawa and the 118th Hospital at Camp Callan in La Jolla. In 1986, the Our Lady of Peace Academy directory lists her as Mrs. George Gunterman of Santa Barbara.
