Box 1

Clippings and memorabilia

Scope and Contents

Box 1 contains clippings and memorabilia of Gloria Jordan, chiefly dating from the late 1950s-1960s, including a caricature sketch of Gloria Jordan and a commemorative metal plate for the play "3 Noches de Boda." There are also manuscript plays, including one with the note, "Originales de papa …" and theater programs, including ones from the Teatro Ideal.

Promotional/publicity materials

Box 2 contains promotional materials related to Andres Soler, Fernando Soler, and other Soler family members, including various pamphlets, programs, clippings, magazines, and ephemera, mainly dating from the 1930s to the 1960s.

Box 3 contains a scrapbook with clippings, photographs, and memorabilia chiefly about Gloria Jordan and some of Andres Soler, dated 1936-1952.

Box 4 contains a variety of loose photographs, chiefly studio portraits of Soler family and friends dating from the late 19th century, including cast photographs, a larger portrait of Oscar Townley Richter, and an original caricature sketch of Andres Soler signed "Crox 68."

Box 5 contains a variety of loose photographs including family snapshots, headshots and publicity shots of Gloria Jordan, and some early publicity shots of Andres Soler from Bogota, Columbia.

Box 7 contains audiovisual materials including consisting of a VHS video tape of Gloria Jordan ("Dulce Desafio" and "Un Rostro en el Pasado"); eight 3-inch super 8 reels (Teques, Cena en Casa de Andrea – Reunión, Casa de Teques, Curenavaca (2 reels), and Jose Enrique (3 reels); one 7-inch audio tape reel ("El Mundo de los Espectáculos" and "Entrevista con Cantinflas"), and 35 mm slides (Teques, Locaciones, Tehuixtla, Daytona, San Agustin, Museo Cera, Familia Ramon, and Logia).

Box 8 contains photographs of Soler family members and Fe Malbumbres, dating from the 1920s to 1980s.

Box 9 contains three volumes: a volume with event photographs and the cover title: "Examenes 1956 A.N.D.A., Dir. Andres Soler"; a scrapbook containing clippings about the Solers, 1950s; and a scrapbook of Gloria Jordan containing photographs and clippings, 1953-1959.

Box 11 contains three volumes: a volume containing clippings, ephemera, programs, playbills, and photographs related to Andres Soler from the 1950s and two albums with photographs of events related to the Instituto Cinematografía, with cover titles: "60 Aniversario del Ins. C. T. de R. y TV. 1957" and "Instituto Cinematografía A.N.D.A. Examenes 1957."

Box 12 contains four albums: a photograph album titled "Los Hermanos Soler" with early photographs of Fernando, Andres, and other family members dating from ca. 1920s-1940s; an album of Fe Malumbres and Gloria Jordan, with personal family photographs from the early 1900s into the 1940s; an album of Gloria Jordan with personal family photographs, signed photographs from friends, and photographs of Andres Soler, of various dates; and a photo album snapshots of a family trip to Florida, circa 1960s.
