Biographical Note
Formed in 1970, the University Professors for Academic Order (UPAO) was an association of college professors. UPAO formed
in opposition to increased progressive political activity and politically motivated movements on college campuses during the
time of its inception, and advocated conservative viewpoints in academia. The association issued publications, held annual
meetings, and sponsored conferences.
