Description
This small collection consists of school report cards and an autograph book from Ruth H. Miles, a longtime resident of Sacramento.
Background
Ruth H. Miles was born on March 24, 1893, in Sacramento, California, to Hiram and Sarah Miles, who had immigrated from England in 1884. She attended Capital Primary School and Harkness Grammar School in Sacramento, California. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for Keating's grocery store in 1915 and then for many years as a stenographer for the California State Highway Department.
