Private Charles Schwanke, United States Army (b. 11/27/1889) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was 27 when he filled out
his draft registration card for the First World War. Records show that Schwanke served with Company K of the 104th Infantry
in France. He sailed home from Brest, France on the USS Mount Vernon in March of 1919 and arrived in Boston on April 4, 1919.
Military records suggest that Schwanke may have had a son, Roland, who died during the Second World War.
