Biography

Joris Ivens was a European director, screenwriter, and film editor. Ivens left the Netherlands in 1936 for the United States. From 1937 to 1989 he made numerous films, including THE SPANISH EARTH (1937), THE 400,000,000 (1939), and THE POWER AND THE LAND (1940).
