Abstract: This collection contains one scrapbook compiled by Veronica MacDonald Hubert and her husband Leo Hubert during the Second
World War. It contains letters and cards from soldiers with whom they worked at a factory in Collinsville, Massachusetts,
as well as some clippings.
Condition Description: Rusted staples, translucent paper in some areas due to glue backing, some bends/folding on letters.

The scrapbook has been maintained in its original form and the letters are not in chronological order.
Veronica MacDonald Hubert worked at the American Woolen Mill in Collinsville, Massachusetts and volunteered to be the mill
representative to workers who left to join the military in 1942. She collected and mailed care packages to them as well as
sending and receiving letters from them. The scrapbook was assembled by Veronica and her husband Leo.

This collection contains one scrapbook compiled by Veronica MacDonald Hubert and her husband Leo Hubert during the Second
World War. Contained within the scrapbook are thirty letters, six postcards, the biography of General Douglas MacArthur written
by Bob Considine, copyright 1942 and in the form of a clipping as printed in a newspaper (several pages in the scrapbook),
and various cards and clippings. Also included are three "Ben-Trav-Log" travel logs for the USS Bennington, numbers 2-4, as
well as one Chidwick Church program for the church at US Naval Training Station in Samson, NY.
The clippings were glued onto the pages of the scrapbook and the correspondence was either stapled or glued in a corner to
provide for flipping to reverse sides.
The correspondence thanks Veronica and Leo, as well as "folks" or "friends" who worked at the American Woolen Mill in Collinsville,
Massachusetts that sent them care packages. The authors of the letters and cards include the following, as well as some soldiers
