legal actions, and expenses of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office including arrest
records, meal counts, court records, and sheriff’s actions.
Background
San Luis Obispo County was established on February 18, 1850 by legislative act and California was admitted to the United
States later that year. Henry J. Dalley was the first county sheriff elected to serve the county with a population of approximately
300 residents.
