Abstract: The Giraffe was a San Francisco, Polk Street gay bar owned by Carl Youngert and Larry Earl from 1979 to 2001. Included in
the collection are business records (including liquor and business licenses), a photograph, leaflets, banners, a cutout plywood
giraffe, a ceramic statue of a giraffe, San Francisco Pool Association materials, a ceramic red AIDS Ribbon Christmas Tree
ornament, plaques, as well as personalia and photographs belonging to John Mark Schultz, perhaps a bar employee.
