Content Description
Correspondence, poetry, artwork, and other written documents sent by artists from San
Quentin State Prison to Stanford artists, as well as the culmination of these writings into
a zine published by the Stanford Renaissance Project in May 2018 called 'Incarceratedly
Yours, Issue I'. Collection includes website and zine.
Conditions Governing Access
The materials are open for research use; materials must be requested at least 48 hours in
advance of intended use. Audio-visual materials are not available in original format, and
must be reformatted to a digital use copy.
Conditions Governing Use
All requests to reproduce, publish, quote from, or otherwise use collection materials must
be submitted in writing to the Head of Special Collections and University Archives, Stanford
University Libraries, Stanford, California 94304-6064. Consent is given on behalf of Special
Collections as the owner of the physical items and is not intended to include or imply

Biographical / Historical
Prison Renaissance at Stanford is supported by a Research Award grant from the Program in
Writing and Rhetoric and by the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking. Founded in Fall 2017,
the group brings together an interdisciplinary group of approximately 30 Stanford
undergraduates, graduate students, staff, and faculty who collaborate with people who are
currently incarcerated.
