Folder 1 – Sketches, Blueprints, Templates, & Math Calculations

Physical Description: This folder contains many charts, sketches, notes, templates, and blueprints for aircraft parts and designs.
 

Folder 2 – Product Advertisements

Physical Description: This folder contains advertisements for beam compasses, magnesium bending sheets, micro switches, circuit switches, and aircraft instruments.
 

Folder 3 – Ultra Lite

Physical Description: This folder contains two sketches of an ultra lite aircraft and a list of measurements (presumably of the aircraft).
 

Folder 4 – Laister Kauffman Documents & Blueprints

Physical Description: This folder contains aircraft repair forms, registration certificates, aircraft operation records, inspect reports, and more for Wibergs Laister Kauffman LK-10A. There is also a blueprint of the aircraft.
 

Folder 5 – Standardizations & Data Tables Papers

Physical Description: This folder contains random papers with data charts and formulas on STOLs, propeller equations, trig function and logarithms, buckling limits, engineering standards, pneumatic systems, and more.
 

Folder 6 – Standardizations & Data Tables Books

Physical Description: This folder contains three standardization books: 1. Strength of Metal Aircraft Elements, Munitions Board Aircraft Committee, June, 1951. 2. Metallurgical and Engineering Data, Ducommun Metals & Supply Co., 1974. 3. Aluminum standards and data, the Aluminum Association Inc., 1976.
 

Folder 7 – Notices & Memos

Physical Description: This folder has a few papers with topics of fuel volume, civil air regulations, aerothrust engines, and JILAIR wing design changes. The dates range from 1956 to 1965.
 

Folder 8 – Wallace Wiberg Notes

Physical Description: This folder contains Wally’s notes on projects such as parametric configuration, cabin differential pressure, bathtub fitting analysis, structure notes (consolidated vultee aircraft), and aerodynamic notes
 

Folder 9 – Technical Reports, Investigations, & Analyses I

Physical Description: This folder contains papers on air traffic rules, jet induced lift, airfoil section data, and basic data analysis, weight and balance, control systems, and more.
 

Folder 10 – Technical Reports, Investigations, & Analyses II

Physical Description: This folder contains a wartime report, an investigation and post analysis for cross rig loads, a booklet on Rivet information, and a booklet on HI-Lok Fasteners.

Folder 1 – National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, Reports & Technical Memos

Physical Description: This folder contains reports from NACA on gliders, tapered wings, wing flaps, airfoil section tests, and ailerons.
 

Folder 2 – Aviation Week – Aeronautical Specification Tables, 1957-1966

Physical Description: This folder contains the Aviation Week newsletters with specification tables from 1957 to 1966.
 

Folder 3 – Army-Navy Civil Committee Aircraft Design Criteria Reports

Physical Description: This folder contains a few criteria reports on testing plywood shells and buckling loads of panels with a variety of physical forces.
 

Folder 4 – U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board Regulations March 31, 1952 – January 16, 1960

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of reports on pilot flight time, airmen ID cards, air traffic rules, aircraft maximum weights and altitude, aircraft marking and certification, and more
 

Folder 5 – Aeronautical Instruments and Apparatus Book

Physical Description: This folder contains a blue book titled “Aeronautical Instruments and Apparatus,” made by Peravia Ltd. in Berne, Switzerland. It contains the specifications and uses for many different altimeters and indicators.
 

Folder 6 – Miscellaneous Reports, Articles, & News Clips

Physical Description: This folder contains a variety of papers including a newspaper clip on Wilhelm F. Schult and the X-114, reports on V/STOL design, two booklets on high pressure pneumatic systems, and a magazine on non-propulsive power for advanced vehicles, reprinted from space aeronautics.

Folder 7 – Wiberg Aircraft & Maintenance Log

Physical Description: This folder contains an Aircraft Log and Maintenance Record Type SD-A. It contains the record of Leister Kauffmann LK-10A (Glider Sailplane), owned by Wallace R. Wiberg. It dates from June 26, 1945 to April 18, 1948.
 

SERIES III: Photographs

 

Folder 8 – People Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of photographs of Wiberg and his friends or peers at events and dinners or at the airfield.
 

Folder 9 – Flying Wings Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains one photograph of Ed in a Backstrom EPB-1 “Flying Plank,” as well as four photographs of a Fauvel Flying Wing named Sandra II.
 

Folder 10 – Texas Scene Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains several photographs of people, aircraft, and aerial photographs. Some of the pictures are taken in Wichita Falls and Grand Prairie, Texas. These photographs were taken by Wally’s wife, June Wiberg.
 

Folder 11 – Screamin Wiener/Little Dogie & Tiny Mite Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains 3 photographs and one negative of the Screamin’ Wiener and the Tiny Mite.

Folder 1 – Ross Rangers Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains photographs of the Ross “Ranger II” in flight and on the ground. The folder also contains photographs of the Fleuret, a jet aircraft. Additional documents are kept in this folder that compare the Fleuret to the Fouga.
 

Folder 2 – Pratt Read Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains photographs of the Pratt Read sailplane as well as a Stearman that towed them
 

Folder 3 – Miscellaneous U.S. Sailplanes Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of photographs of many different sailplanes.
 

Folder 4 – “Gallant Journey” Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains seven photographs of Wally Wiberg “on location for ‘Gallant Journey.’” Gallant Journey, produced in 1946, is a move based on John J. Montgomery’s life and work.
 

Folder 5 – Miscellaneous European Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of photographs of a few sailplanes including the Orlik and the Air 100.
 

Folder 6 – German Sailplane Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of photographs of sailplanes and gliders including the EoN Olympia, the Rhon Bussard, and the Minimoa.
 

Folder 7 – LK-10 Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains dozens of photographs of the Wiberg’s LK-10 sailplane at many different locations in the United States.
 

Folder 8 – California Series Photographs

Physical Description: This folder contains photographs of aircraft at Twentynine Palms.
 

SERIES IV – Oversized Materials

Physical Description: There is one pi circle transparent template labeled as Rohr Industries in the Oversized Material Special Collection, OMSC_00001. A reduction scan of the template was placed in folder 1:1.
