Biography

Marvin Curtiss Johnson was a gay playwright in Los Angeles, California, whose musical "How to Make a Dumb Blonde," directed for the stage by Tommy Panko, premiered at the Beverly Hilton-Tudor Dinner Theatre in Summer 1973. "How to Make a Dumb Blonde" was copywritten by Johnson and James Anderson on June 23, 1969.

The collection includes scripts, sheet music, copyright information, and notes, 1955-1975, from writer Marvin C. Johnson. The bulk of the collection is comprised of scripts and sheet music from the musical, "How to Make a Dumb Blonde," (1969-1973). Additionally included are other writings, notes, rejected songs, the Writer's Guild of America TV Market List (1975), and a lecture booklet entitled "The Therapeutic Value of Music" (1955).
