Telling Pictures is a San Francisco-based film production company. The company, founded by Robert
Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, produces non-fiction feature films and documentaries for television and
corporate clients. Films include THE CELLULOID CLOSET (1996), COMMON THREADS: STORIES FROM THE QUILT
(1989), and THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK (1984). Epstein received Academy Awards in the documentary feature
category for producing THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK and COMMON THREADS.
