Background
Sunnyside Neighborhood Association was established in 1974 to bring residents together to preserve, enhance, and empower the
livability of the neighborhood. The group holds quarterly meetings, publishes a newsletter, and serves as a unified voice
for the district. Located in south-central San Francisco, Sunnyside was founded in 1891 by Behrend Joost. It contains about
2800 households in its 43 blocks. Notable sites are City College and the Sunnyside Conservatory.
