Biography
The American Assocation of University Women (AAUW), established in 1881, is a nation-wide, nonprofit organization comprised
of over 1,000 branches and over 800 college and university partners. The AAUW promotes equity and education for women and
girls.
The Escondido branch of AAUW was established in 1954, and later merged with the San Marcos branch in 1985. The Escondido-San
Marcos branch closed in 2016.
Scope and Content of Collection
Collection includes minutes and administrative files, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, newsletters, and press releases of
the Escondido-San Marcos Branch from 1953 through 2012. Scrapbooks and newspaper clippings highlight annual "Paseadas" or
tour of homes.
