Abstract: The Lloyd John Ogilvie Collection, 1958-2006 documents the ministry of Lloyd John Ogilvie with a special focus on his church
pastorates, the “Let God Love You” media ministry, and his service as 61st Chaplain to the United States Senate. The collection
contains an extensive group of church service bulletins, sermon notes, and research materials related to Dr. Ogilvie’s church
ministries in Winnetka, Illionis; Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and Hollywood, California. It also contains typescripts and notes
of recorded sermons and program lists of Ogilvie’s ‘Let God Love You’ television and radio programs.

Biography/Administrative History
Dr. Lloyd John Ogilvie (September 2, 1930-June 5, 2019) served as 61st Chaplain of the United States (1995-2003), Pastor of
First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood (1972-1995), and Fuller Seminary Trustee. During his time in California, Ogilvie started
his nationally syndicated radio and television program, “Let God Love You.” He set up a non-profit organization, independent
of the program or First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, “Lloyd Ogilvie Ministries,” which oversaw and managed the media
ministry. In 2003 Dr. Ogilvie retired from the Senate and continued to accept speaking engagements through “Leadership Unlimited”
and the Lloyd John Ogilvie Institute of Preaching in the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts at Fuller Theological
Seminary in Pasadena, California.
