Description
A.J. Edwards was an agent of the American Remount Association in Oregon during the 1940s. This collection includes stud books and receipts of mares bred to Edwards' stud horses, correspondence, photographs, and a stamp.
Background
Arthur James Edwards, also known as A.J. Edwards, was born on March 3, 1884, in Manitoba, Canada, to a Canadian father named William Henry Edwards, and an English mother, Emma Garner. He emigrated with his family from Vancouver on the 1st of March, 1890, and arrived in Seattle. They settled in the region of Tacoma, Washington, on or around the 7th of March, 1890.
