Stewart through baptisms and various missionary work undertaken or supervised by Thatcher. Folder also includes typewritten journal entries dated April 4, 1881 presumaby written by Moises Thatcher relating to Thatcher and James Z. Stewart's stay at Zarate's residence. Lastly, a typed English document written by Thatcher and Stewart dating 1879 and 1881 is also included in the folder and contains details pertaining to Lino Zarate's baptism.

This folder contains basic biographical information about Jose and Juana's B. Zuniga's family, briefly explaining their importance in establishing the Spanish language branch of the Church in Salt Lake City after fleeing Mexico in 1912 to escape the Mexican Revolution. Notably a descendancy chart of Simón Zuniga and Anastacia Medina are included along with a geneology of the family. These documents were presumably consulted in researcher Kirk Henrichsen's drafting of the Zuniga family's activity's in Salt Lake City, Utah. Drafts are dated 2012.

This folder contains a correspondance from John F. Apgar Jr. to Fernando R. Gomez to Maridad, Yucatan, Mexico. There is written text in both spanish and english from Apgar Jr. experience in Yucatan, Mexico in their mission. This folder also contains a missionary survery Gomez gave to Apgar Jr. Thre is also a coorespondance from Elder Clark Webb to Apgar to inform him he will act as a Senior Conpanion to Elder Snyder. This folder also contains correspondance from Elder Derrill Larkin from La Iglesia de Jesuscristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias from April 25, 1962 to May 19, 1962. In this folder there is a copy of a letter to John F. Apgar from 1962. This folder also contains a short history of a mission in Merida. Towards the end of the folder you will find photo copies of images from community members in the mission. This folder contains correspondance from Elder Clark Webb to Elder John Apgar on February 11, 1962 to inform him he will be "Co-Senior" with Elder Snyder. This folder also contains a copy of correspondance from Elder Derrill Larkin from La Iglesia de Jesuscristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias from April 25, 1962 to May 19, 1962. There is also a correspondance between Elder John F. Apgar Jr and Marza L. Hatch of their experience visiting Valladolid, Yucatan in July 6, 1962. Note

Folder contains a variety of letter and articles written in recognition of service, accomplishments, or milestones of individuals. Includes photocopy of an English text letter written by E.B. Wells to Bishop Whitney and his wife congratulating them for their recent marriage, an English text photocopied newspaper article entitled "Songs Touch Her Heart; 5 Join Church" dated October 1969. Article discusses how Norma Hoyes and her siblings converted to Mormonism, a congratulatory letter addressed to newly appointed bishop Felix Romero Pulido Sosa presenting his bishop certificate. Signatures from Victor L. Brown, H. Burke Peterson, and Vaughn J. Featherstone also certify the letter, and a Spanish text letter typewritten by the E.F. Olson, director of the Western Society of Mutual Improvement, recognizing the missionary efforts of Fransico Villa Alvarez, Joel Villa Heredia, Leho Villa Heredia y Nefi Villa Heredia.

Uayma, Yucatan, Mormon History of 1958-1994 and undated

Note

This folder contains a journal entry from former Elder Jose Octavio Davila M. from early 1959 journey of missions through Mexico City, Puebla and Uayma Yucatan. This This folder contains a state directory of statistics of Rama Uayma, in the district of Valladolid Mexico. These statistics contains date of births of both men and women from the years 1920 to 1986. Following this directory is another list of people who were part of a missionary event in Uayma. There is a list of people who were baptized in Uayma from 1959-1962. This folder also contains interviews with some of the people who live in Uayma. Following interviewees are: Maximilio Andrade Lozano, Hermana María Luisa Chi Yam, Donata Castro Pacheco and Celia Noemi Gonzales. Towards the end of the folder there is a comparative of other states in Mexico of baptisms with hours and expenses. folder also contains early documentation of Mission trips from July 19, 1959 to august 19, 1962 containg written entries of Hermano E. Sanchez Rosas from August 18 1989 describing his experience the area of Acanceh, Yucatan. There are also written notes about the Sanchez Rosas entries. This folder also contains photo copies on printer paper of E. Sanchez Rosas, community memebers, and town of Acanceh. Towards the end of the folder there are printed images on printer paper of Elder John F. Apgar and his companion from May 1962. Additionally, this folder contains a typed English draft of the first historical commemoration event in Uayma, Yucatan Mexico on July 16, 1994. The document is one page and summarizes the main activities that took place during the event. The second document in the folder is a typed history in Spanish of the church in Uayma. The history begins with the founding of the church and describes some of the persecution the church and the its eventual reorganization. Some of the pages have written notes on the back, providing additional detail or context to the history. Notably, the last document in the folder is a page of handwritten notes explaining, explaining why Uayma was chosen as the site of celebration.

This folder contains a 1 page typed history of the gospel- preaching in Tierrablanca, Veracruz written in Spanish. Additionally, a photcopied column of what appears to be a newspaper also briefly summarizes the organization of the Tierrablanca branch in 1945. A publication announcing the 50th anniversary of the branch in 1995 is included along with various documents pertaining the history of Julio Hidalgo Nieto such as a Curriculum Vitae, a descendancy chart, and his membership record. This folder contains typed English transcriptions of journal entries from 1883 presumably written by Anthony Ivins detailing initial correspondence from the first Tornacuxtla congregation, which revolved to identify with the Mormon Church and requested a visit from the main branch. Entries mention initial persecution of the congregation from the Mexican government and extensive interactions with a man named Martinez who acted as a liason between the two parties. The second set of journal entries from 1887-1888 in the folder explain the difficulties of Utah missionaries in cultivating genuine support among Mexican converts.
