Scope and Content of Collection
Cinematographer Fred A. Roberts (b. August 9, 1926 - d. May 26, 2004) served mission organizations with motion pictures. His
goal was to produce quality films that represented missions in a positive light. To that end, Roberts’ work led him to make
over 50 trips to locations in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Indonesia from 1956-1999. Roberts created
films for mission organizations including Nora Lam Ministries, Overseas Crusades, Sudan Interior Mission, the Baptist General
Conferences, Inter-Varsity, and the Salvation Army. He also made films for commercial organizations and individual churches.
The collection includes a selection of Roberts' photographs from his extensive travels and stills from film productions. In
some cases, Roberts' personal descriptions accompany the images. The collection also includes moving image reels, typed correspondence,
and project reports.
