The papers include photograph albums that contain photographs, memorabilia and a small amount of correspondence documenting the life of Teddy Shore, who was born in 1911. Nothing is known about Shore except what is revealed through the photographs in, and his descriptions of, the albums. Shore, a gay man, was born in New York City and made the first of his many trips to Europe in 1929. He is pictured with his many male friends at costume parties, on beaches, and in cafes in various European locales. One album contains photographs of his San Francisco apartment. There is a photo of one of his friends with Imelda Marcos.
