Background
Ken LaZebnik was born on November 11, 1954. He is an American playwright and screenwriter who has written scripts for such
shows as Touched by an Angel, Army Wives, Providence, Star Trek: Enterprise, and When Calls The Heart. He also co-wrote director Robert Altman's film A Prairie Home Companion and wrote the Lionsgate film Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage. In addition, his plays have also received national acclaim. His play, On The Spectrum was given a Steinberg Citation from the American Theatre Critics Association. Currently, LaZebnik is serving as Dean of Performing
Arts at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. He now resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Kate, with whom he has two sons.
