Series Scope and Content Summary
The Printed Materials series is divided into 3 subseries. These subseries are: Publications, Executive Documents, and Community
Involvement.
Publications include 4 folders as follows: Interfaith Voice, Church Council News Notes, Event Notes, and News Bulletins.
The Interfaith Voice folder ranges from January 1981 to Fall 1995 non-inclusive. It is a compilation of Church news and information
that the Church published. The Council of Churches News Notes are a prior form of Church news published from 1933 to April
1963 non-inclusive. Event Notes are a combination of Interfaith Voice, Council of Churches, and other special bulletins signaling
particular church events not corresponding to any particular publication or date range. The News Bulletins range from September
1972 to November 1980 and are another form of church news publications.
The Executive Documents subseries include 8 folders as follows: Annual Reports, Articles of Incorporation, Executive Roster,
Constitution and Bylaws, Sacramento Metropolitan Industry Education Council Report, Board Meeting Minutes, Patricia Hutchins,
and Charles Goethe. The Annual Reports folder contains the Sacramento Area Council of Churches annual report to the General
Assembly from 1966 to November 1977. The Articles of Incorporation contains the Interfaith Service Bureau’s Articles of Incorporation
from March 1943. The Executive Roster folder contains a list of Interfaith Service Bureau church members and volunteers as
well as their addresses. The Constitution and Bylaws folder has the Interfaith Service Bureau January 15th, 1963 proposed
Constitution and Bylaws. The 1982 Sacramento Metropolitan Industry Education Council Report is in the Sacramento Metropolitan
Industry Education Council folder. Interfaith Service Bureau Board Meeting Minutes range from February 1929 to April 1991
non-inclusive and are broken up into two folders. Folder 1 ranges from February 1929 to December 1987; folder 2 ranges from
March 1988 to April 1991. The final two folders contain information and memorabilia for Church member Patricia Hutchins and
leader Charles Goethe.
Community Involvement subseries of the Printed Materials series contains 8 folders as follows: Gray Panthers, Volunteering,
Magazines and Booklets, American Indian Material, Bicentennial, Klu Klux Klan, Apalachi Club, and Community Outreach. The
Gray Panthers folder is a youth publication and has articles ranging from March 1984 to March 1987. The Volunteering folder
includes a manual and other printed documents describing how church members can volunteer for the organization or in the community.
Magazines and Booklets include books and other small publications made by the Church. The American Indian Material was originally
compiled by the Interfaith Service Bureau and was included as is in the folder. The KKK folder contains the Interfaith Service
Bureau and Church’s stance on the Klu Klux Klan and it’s ideals. The Apalachi club was a women’s organization created to
get the wives of pastors and church officials involved; their diary of meetings and notes are included in this folder. The
Community Outreach Folder contains program information, flyers, and pamphlets printed to get the Church members involved in
the community.
