1 dress uniform jacket belonging to Keith Kerr (1936-2021). Kerr was a retired United States Army Reserve Colonel and, later,
brigadier general in the California State Military Reserve (now the California State Guard). In a 2003 New York Times editorial,
Kerr criticized the U.S. military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy and also shared his identity as a gay man.
